Exploring State Shifts – What Regulation Actually Means
The Anima Experience is a 90-minute live session held monthly on Zoom — not a lecture, not a webinar, and not a course.
Each session includes a brief grounding, a short teaching on one practical idea, a guided experiential practice, and structured time for partner reflection and group sharing. The emphasis is on direct experience and genuine connection — not performance, not perfection, and not pushing past what feels right for you.
The Anima Experience is a monthly gathering. Each session stands on its own — you can join at any point and get full value from wherever you are.
This month we’re going into how nervous system states actually shift. Most of us have been taught one rule for stress: calm down. Slow the breath, soften the body, settle. That rule works some of the time. The rest of the time it backfires. Activation that needs to move gets stuffed in a box. Numbness that needs gentle activation gets met with more rest. Fawning gets met with “just say no.” The nervous system stops trusting that it’ll be met right.
Real regulation isn’t being calm all the time. It’s the capacity to feel what’s happening fully and return back from it. That capacity is built through state shifts done right, not through staying calm.
This session is where that picture gets clearer in your own body, in real time. What state you’re actually in. What that state needs from you, which is usually different from what you’d guess. And how shifts happen when you stop overriding what your body is trying to do.
We’ll spend time in guided somatic exploration, small group sharing, and honest conversation. You’ll leave with a handout and a daily practice you can use immediately — a direct continuation of what we started in Session 1.
*Sessions are held on Zoom
**A recording will be available to all registrants until the following session.
Each session follows a consistent, grounded structure:
Each participant receives a session handout — a take-home reference and daily practice that extends the work beyond the session itself.
After registering you’ll receive a confirmation email with your Zoom link and session details. Recording access is included for all registrants and will be available until the following session.
Profoundly accepting — meets us wherever we are at all times. A guide on the side instead of a sage on the stage. No teaching, no preaching. Very simple practices to help us hear our bodies. Zero pressure for any kind of outcome or success measurement. Not just another breath work mindfulness course.”

It brought out so much from when I was a child. I can’t express it fully, but you helped me so much. Thank you.”

I felt heard, seen and validated. I was so emotional that it was a release for my nervous system. Can’t wait until the next one.”

I’ve been facilitating this kind of work in trainings, workshops, and retreats for years — but this is the first time I’m bringing it to this community. That means something to me.
